Blimps.

Be VERY Careful when posting information like this to a newsgroup. I
know Jim very well from his time in GLA, EDI and Cumbernauld. I talked
to someone I know about the Russian disaster and the Edinburgh EN
making a complaint.

Jim works in a area where this info has to be kept on a sensitive
level. Its fine in a private! ng but NOT on a forum open to the
masses.

I have sent a email to Jim telling him whats happened.

Sorry but I work 2 in aviation and while I'm not up to scratch on the
latest I know what is right and wrong with regards to information.

Even 'closed' forums have whistle blowers...yes it is best not to
mention sources on
aircraft movements..

It doesn't sound very high security to me. The President of Russia visiting
is one thing, but Air Scotland charters? I don't think any harm has been
done on this occasion!

It's the 'inside' info thing that gets BAA's goat.

They don't want info released that might have umpteen ladders placed
against their perimeter fence.

They could of course provide 'custom' holes that make ladders unnecessary..

Fair enough, If I get any more info for EDI or any other airport from
whatever source I'll withold the original posters name, but remind me of the
Russian 'disaster?' Was there a problem Colin?

In this instance I didn't think there was any harm in passing on the info,
and as you know, it's not like me to be controversial..

I dont think there is any harm done. In my company it is a offence to
post information about our aircraft movments or related information. A
sacking offence sometimes!!! I am aware of the Concorde visits to
Edinburgh, times etc but I will not post them here.

Just as well...we don't want anyone camping by the fence for 3 months....

Quote:
I just know Jim from ATC Cumbernauld and I know he works in Edinburgh
and after recent problems(Which I heard through a mate) he would not
like this info on a public forum.

BAA would dearly love to make an example of some one...

Quote:
Callum, sorry but it is a big deal, while its just a Air Scotland
flight its information realting to a future movement and I heard that
BAA are clamping down on it.

They are even doing away with wide body stands and facilitiesw...

Whyever not? I'm sure the papers will be full of timings as soon as they are
known, and anyway, is this tour not actually to let the great British public
actually see the fecking thing ffs!

Prospective visitors from the west could maybe pitch up with you the night
before so they could be a tad closer on the day of the visit?

Good idea, don't let the public know of any future flights from EDI, a sure
fire way to slow growth..

For the purposes of newsgroup propogation...?

Just in time for Mr 'Whoopee' to catch-up with the latest from BAA....

Passengers per atm are resolved to the
nearest whole number and are in brackets. Period is fiscal 2002/3.
Source is BAA.

1. EDI / easyJet 2,246,000 passengers / 17,700 atms. (114)
2. GLA / easyJet 1,714,000 passengers / 22,400 atms (77)

The EDI easyJet operation worked at a level 48.05% ahead of GLA.
At EDI, easyJet accounted for 31.7% of the total passenger throughput
with just 19.7% of the total atms. At GLA they accounted for 21.7% of
the total passenger throughput but with 25.3% of the total atm
throughput. A very stark comparison and perhaps time for easyJet to
consider transferring redundant GLA capacity to the busier east coast
routes?
