Not at all I have disagreed with Joe on cross-posting and also on an
insensitive post re cross-posting at the time of the cargo plane crash in
October last year, but I don't think that means I am included in the
"posse". I am surprised at you with a name like "be-positive" one would
think you would be trying to look for something positive to say about Joe
however you only seem to want to find the negatives when looking at him.
You also choose to associate yourself with a group mindset on this newsgroup
rather than take a more individual stance. By that I mean you always see
only negatives with regard to Joe and positives with regard to the group
mentioned. I am sure that you will only respond to the bits of posts like
this that suits you and ignore the bits you don't have an answer for as I
see you haven't responded to my post to you/in reply to you elsewhere in
this thread.
It is very easy to be part of a group and to attack an individual and much
harder to stand (almost) alone and fight a group. This newsgroup reminds me
so much of schooldays when a group of people would try to bully an
individual only the individual isn't going to lie down but fight back.
Whatever his faults and I am sure he has many (none of us are perfect) I am
sure he has good qualities as well but you wouldn't think that from reading
some of the guff posted here.
I once did a course at degree level on Popular culture and part of that was
on the media. I learnt there that many newspapers first of all decide the
stance they will take on a particular story and then they ONLY observe the
facts which reinforce the stance they have decided to adopt and ignore
anything that contradicts with that stance. I mention this because it looks
to me as if that is EXACTLY what happens with some individuals on here.
I took my degree in a subject (Geology) where the way you go about things is
to observe first and draw conclusions later, and later if you observe
something that doesn't fit in you don't ignore it but you adapt your
opinions/conclusions to make sense of the new information. I hope you will
respond to these points and not ignore things you don't have an answer for.
It isn't true that Joe is always wrong and you and others are always right
and it is time that you realised this and stopped what you are doing which
seems to be to try and destroy this newsgroup which is about Edinburgh
airport ffs.
I don't find humour with a knife stuck in as all that humourous and your
attempt at humour is fairly vicious IMHO. There is nothing positive in it at
all. You are a member of a lynch mob trying to attack an individual. I see
that as being thoroughly COWARDLY and my instincts are to take the side of
the individual being attacked rather than join the mob attacking him/her.
It is time that you and others started to look at things more objectively
and start looking at everything not just the facts that reinforce your
adopted stance. A failure to address these points would indicate to me that
you have no good answer and that you only come here for fight so to speak
and that you have no interest in Edinburgh airport.
Anyone who can't see anything positive in Joe and can't see anything
negative in themselves needs to have a good hard look at themselves. Certain
matters could be taken up with him privately to keep it off the newsgroup.
What I have written here should not be snipped as it stands as a whole
piece, I don't want it dissected and bits discarded.
