This one for the spotters.....I just noticed that the 319 on the
picture has two emergency doors over the wings. Does EZY have custom
made ones, or is the picture actually a A320 or is the 2 door thing
new on the A319-111 model and not implemented on the A319-100 ??

Just curious :-)

Easyjet had them specially modified with 2 overwing exits as they put an
extra six seats in their aircraft. I believe they carry 156 pax instead of
the normal 150. They have no galleys so could accommodate the extra seats
easily without reducing the seat pitch. They also have to carry 4 cabin crew
instead of 3 due the increase in pax.

I believe easyjet are the only operators of this version.

I think its to do with the fact that EZYs A319s are rammed full of seats so
it helps satisfy the emergency evacuation times.

I'm sure EZY insisted on two doors for some reason, could it be
because they have extra seats.?

Yes, even if it doesn't satisfy basic passenger comfort levels ... IMO,
anyway.

Recently flew with EZY between LGW and EDI aboard one of their new A319s.
The accommodation felt distinctly intimate, shall we say?!

More so than the 737s?

Does the wider aisle also help with boarding or was it still the same old
scrum?

I always thought the seat pitch on EZY wasnt that bad but then Im 5'5". Ive
got a good amount of space forward of my knees even when the person in front
moves their chair.

I'm not sure. But the seats actually felt narrower. Might have just been my
imagination!

It felt that way to me.

I don't think the boarding was noticeably any quicker, and it was a full
flight. The aisle certainly appeared to be wider than the 737, though. Handy
if you're wanting the rest room and the trolley's in the way, I guess!

It's OK for a short trip. If Ray Webster is toying with the idea of Easy
Atlantic, though, he might want to consider a tad more room. :-)

That must add a fair percentage on to their operating costs per flight?

I've always thought that seats on the A320-family seem wider than on the
737s, although this would be using BA as my comparison, not queasyJet
