As a regular traveller between GLA - DUS. Usually with AB, but
sometimes others. There is always a regular flow of passengers
travelling on this route. I have known 30+ transfering to/from the GLA
flights at STN. Not uncommon. + others on other connecting flights must
add-up?

For the 3rd time in as many months I flew BRS - DUS or DUS - BRS.
Highest amount that I have seen on these flights was last week. Total
economy class 11. no business passengers. Puzzled as to the economics
of the chosen route? Maybe you guys who are able to look at passenger
no.s on all/various routes will tell me different with regards to the
BRS - DUS - BRS service?

The most up to date stats for BRS-DUS I can find on the CAA (for august)
show 1785 pax used the route, which works out about 30 pax per flight
(assuming one daily flight each way). Not bad, but obviously profitability
depends on whether the pax are paying bargain fares or full-fare economy. Of
course, this is from the height of summer, but I can't see any figures for
last Oct (I guess the route is newish?).

From what you say, you have to think that a GLA-DUS route could work, but as
has been discussed before I think there may be slot restrictions at DUS
(perhaps caused by operational/noise restrictions as much as actual
congestion).

I take it from what you're seeing the AB flights are still doing OK?

Yea, The AB flights are ok outbound as there is a wee mini hub area
directly as you depart at STN. Inbound you have first to go through
English Passport control station at main terminal. Then work your way
through departures again before departure back to GLA, MAN or BHD. Real
pain in the butt. Flights vary from GLA . Sometimes 100% full, but at
other times i've seen only 20 - 30% take up. Most passengers connecting
at STN and not point to point. [My experience, maybe not others]

FWIW AB run a similar operation at PMI
Incoming passengers from Spain are offloaded near the gates from
which their Germany-bound flights are leaving.
I can't say what happens the other way around.
