HEERY INTERNATIONAL FLIES HIGH WITH MAJOR AIRPORT CONTRACTS

(SCOTLAND)--Heery International has landed two major airport contracts
in Scotland at Glasgow Prestwick International and Edinburgh Airports.

At Edinburgh Airport, BAA has renewed its partnership with Heery for
an approximately $18.9 million expansion program. As part of the
Edinburgh Airport team, Heery will provide planning, design and
program management and support services for the new project, which
will improve access to the International Arrivals, extend the
Departure Lounge and Baggage Hall, as well as greatly improve the
airport's retail offering. The project is currently in design, with
construction to start in late February 2004.

Heery earlier completed an assignment as construction manager on a
5-year, $126 million redevelopment of the Airport completed in 2001.
Heery's skill in managing the previous redevelopment with minimal
disruption to operators and passengers will be brought into play once
again as the various elements of the project get underway.

At Glasgow Prestwick International Airport (GPIA), Heery International
is part of the team lead by the Parr Partnership to provide master
planning for the proposed major development. The project is intended
to create a blueprint for a major international hub at Glasgow
Prestwick and anticipates a growth in passenger numbers from its
current 1.5 million to more than 10 million per annum. Heery's role
centers around programming and phasing advice for the project, which
addresses infrastructure, parking, retail and hotels.

Heery has developed substantial expertise in airport redevelopment,
having previously worked on both Glasgow and Edinburgh International
Airport redevelopment projects. These latest projects at Glasgow and
Edinburgh join a growing list of Heery's airport clients and projects,
which includes Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta,
Ga.; SeaTac in Seattle, Wash.; Baltimore/Washington International
Airport in Baltimore, Md.; Tampa International Airport, Tampa, Fla.;
Boise Airport, Boise, Idaho; and Heathrow International Airport,
London. Founded in 1952, Heery has been recognized annually by such
industry standards as Building Design & Construction and Engineering
News-Record as one of the nation's top firms.

There was an article in today's Edinburgh Evening News referring to the
contract, so I checked out Heery's website to see if they had any more ...
sure enough, they did.

When will this work start?

The work at EDI begins early next year. Doesn't seem to mention a start date
mentioned for the PIK upgrades ... soon, hopefully!

Haven't heard anything on that.

BAA Glasgow Airport. A new £200 million expansion of the terminal has
been announced. Speaking to The Herald newspaper, Stephen Baxter,
managing director, said the terminal will be extended at both ends
with the replacement of the old east pier which is thought will host
expanded low cost operations. The old international pier is currently
home to easyJet and bmibaby as well as flights to the Highlands and
Islands and Ireland. An additional 10 new stands are also planned as
well as another new 2000 space car park. Work commences this summer
and will increase capacity to 16 million passengers a year. More
details of the scheme here when I get them.
The new multi-story short stay car park is now open with over 2000
parking spaces offering quick and easy access to the terminal via the
direct bridge link.

Two new hotels are now complete - the Ramada and Travelodge which are
both located on the other side of the motorway flyover at the
Abbotsinch Business Park - 500 yards from the terminal. These
compliment the existing hotels, the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express
and Travel Inn.

Anyone know if this is true?

Pigeon English?

The younger generation - early teens - seem to have their own 'texting' language Sandy.

M8 is not a motorway for instance, it's a companion evidently. Sad(
