Sorry, it's pure dead embarrassing

PRESTWICK airport?s new slogan, "Pure Dead Brilliant", has been branded
as "embarrassing" and "hackneyed" by advertising experts.

Launched today, the slogan will be displayed on hundreds of advertising
hoardings around the Ayrshire airport?s terminal and other buildings.

Steve Fitzgerald, the airport?s chief executive, said: "The inspiration
for it was to be something upbeat, fun, energetic and a little bit edgy.
It came out of a workshop session done at the airport here with a focus
group of staff and some others."

He denied that it could be perceived as lacking in class and said: "We
may have one or two people who have a sort of snobbish attitude towards
it, but if they were to give it a chance, they?d be persuaded by it."
