Any suggestions on keeping warm when flying a Quicksilver in the winter
weather.
I purchased a cowling and windshield. It's small. Not a lot of wind
deflection. I got the helmet and full face shield and winter covderalls.
Still get really cold after 15 minutes flying.
Does anyone sell a encloser other than Mark Smith's Canvas design? |

I have a motorcycle battery, rectifier/regulator system on my machine
along with a cigar lighter socket. I plug a little 70 watt inverter into
the socket and a 110V 50 watt heating pad (from a pharmacy) into that. I
put the heating pad inside my jacket next to my chest. Works great.

You might enjoy looking at this website - http://www.icebike.com/
although the difference between active bicycling and passive flying is
very significant, the two also have much in common (breathable
windbreak, stay dry, layer, etc.). They also do some nice testing and
the results are often interesting. Good luck, it is an awesome time of
year to be flying.

Ever thought about getting a 12 volt heating pad/blanket instead to
eliminate that converter?
Maybe something like this...
http://www.alltvstuff.com/ettb2.html
You could probably slit it down the middle half way, wrap each section
around your legs, and the uncut upper portion around your torso. Then
climb into your pants and coat or jump suit, plug in, and be El Mr.
Toasty.

Look into electrically heated clothing made for motorcycling:

or make your own:
