An Aircraft Proximity (Airprox) report has been filed involving an Airbus
340 and an Airbus 319. The incident took place 20 miles south east of
Biggin Hill, Kent, on 12 January 2007 at 1430 hours.
The A340 was en-route to Heathrow and the A319 was heading to Munich
Airport. Both aircraft were receiving an air traffic service from the
London Terminal Control Centre. The incident took place at approximately
15,000 feet.
These details are subject to assessment by the independent UK Airprox
Board. During 2005, the last year for which full data is available, there
were 87 Airprox incidents involving commercial air transport and 90% of
these were assessed as having no risk of collision.
