I believe Air Berlin are very pleased with their UK routes out of Stansted.
They will start Stansted - Edinburgh in April.

great news Doug. I used them for the first time recently and was very
impressed. The only thing I didn't like was the trip through Stansted
passport control and security back to the same plane I had just
disembarked. But I am told that it is easier the other way (heading to
Germany).
I wonder if the timings will be similar to the Glasgow services - if
different we might well have a different range of destinations, which
could be helpful. Not that I would object to a duplication either.

Interesting that flyglobespan have hardly stopped EDI-STN before
AB starts it.

heh, true. But the AB on board product is a lot better than we'll be
getting from BA. huge leg room for a budget airline for starters, plus
free food and drink.

I'm glad that *someone* is going to continue to compete against Easyjet.
Keeps them honest.

If your reply were EDI specific, there would be no question of duplication?
Still using this infantile sig? Good grief, it's a sure sign you have
lost whatever arguments you wish to pursue...what are they btw?

And start earning the longed for yield.
There aint no business class in AB, so bang goes that argument. |

while there are plenty of £9 fares (plus tax of course), they got €250
off me for a one way. In fairness, it was booked the morning of the flight.
And they do have a FF program, so the attraction for shallow minded
business travelers is there (ahem).

I can't wait. It's a refreshing change from other airlines (ScotAirways
excluded).

Hi Bill
Well our main company office is now moving to
Cambridge so it looks like a lot of trips to
STN for me.
Its good to see that I may be able to use Air
Berlin for some of my flights. Also must look
into
the FF program.
regards

Doesn't say much for the chances of direct Scotland-Germany routes from them
though:-( If they are so into hubbing though, hopefully we will see
connections to their Iberian hub at PMI some time soon.
A bit more competition at EDI in terms of German routes - I wonder what LH
will do, as it will surely take a fair bit of German connecting traffic off
them.
