AER LINGUS is to drop its three times per week scheduled service
from Dublin via Shannon to Washington-Baltimore from 1 December and
replace it, also three times weekly, with flights to Orlando,
officially a charter. The two class Airbus A330 Baltimore service
comes back on line 9 May 2005. http://www.aerlingus.com

Let's not get too excited about this... Sad
There are currently NO outward Aer Lingus flight from EDI in the
morning to connect with EI's 12noon MCO flight

The return DUB-EDI involves a 4 hour layover at Dublin.?

Best use the Continental Airlines flight if possible.

Looks as if Continental are winning EDI-USA hands down...EI are
seemingly lacking enthusiasm..unbelievable when one considers the early
morning
flight on their old schedules was virtually chock-a-block!

It was a question, John. Like Clive's "Ryanair Effect" was a question.

Are they? So everyone travelling to USA is now using the direct CO flight,
and no-one is routing via LHR/FRA/CDG and all other airports?

Handy because you could pass US immigration in Dublin and speed
through JFK. Seems bizarre that both flights from EDI should fail to
connect with their NY service - yes fly direct, but if an indirect
flight is your only option it would be better, surely, to take one
that went in the right direction.

I contacted EI about this and they suggested I took the early morning flight
from Abbotsinch! Reading between the lines it appears EI have shortages
aircraft-wise.
