Source: Irish News

Aer Lingus flights from Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports could be
disrupted this Saturday due to a row over the airline’s plan to lay
off 1,325 workers.

SIPTU, which represents more than half of the company’s 4,000 staff,
is planning to hold general meetings at the three airports from noon
on Saturday unless Aer Lingus lifts the September 14 deadline for
acceptance of a redundancy package.

The union believes the deadline does not give the workers enough
time to adequately consider their future options.

It has also expressed concern about the impact of the job cuts on
staff members who remain at Aer Lingus after the restructuring plan
is implemented
