New Galway Edinburgh Service
Aer Arann, Ireland’s premier regional airline, today announced it
will commence a new Galway to Edinburgh service from Friday the 19th
of December 2003. The airline will provide one flight per day, five
days a week from Galway Airport to cater for leisure and business
passengers.
With fares from EUR129 return including tax the 1 hour 20 minute
flight will depart Galway at 1945 and the returning flight will
depart Edinburgh at 2135. The flight will be operated on a 48 seater
ATR42 aircraft.
Commenting on the announcement, Jennifer Mooney, Commercial Manager,
Aer Arann said; ‘‘ Aer Arann is delighted to be announcing its third
UK service from Galway Airport. Initially we planned to operate a
Galway Glasgow Prestwick service, however following a more detailed
analysis of passenger traffic to Scotland, Edinburgh is a more
popular short break destination and with substantial demand for this
service in both departure and destination regions this route made
the most commercial sense. Having carried just short of 115,000
passengers through Galway Aiport this year, we feel we are
exceptionally well positioned to operate this new service and look
forward to continuing growth on this and other new UK services in
the future’’.
