Apparently Aer Arann have decided no to compete with Ryanair PIK to west
Ireland and are to start EDI to Galway instead.

The most plausible explanation rather than the face saving one by their

The explanation seems pretty logical Joe. Aer Arann had not announced the
service to PIK when Air Wales announced their intention to start from GLA.
Aer Arann then made their announcement about a service to PIK without a
start date. Just as they did that Ryanair announced a completely unexpected
service to Shannon (about 50 miles down the road.). Going from no service
to a B737-800 and an ATR 42 every day seemed illogical.

Aer Arann have obviously looked again and chosen EDI. Good luck to them but
I still think they will struggle to compete against Ryanair.

They had hoped to put an A380 on the route, just on the strength of all
the boasting and bragging
in this pathetic tribal newsgroup...

Never mind, perhaps Loganair might use one on the Belfast route.... >]Wink)

I guess it will qualify because it's 5 times a week and Galway is a new
destination for Scotland.

I would be interested if it qualifies for assistance. The Ryanair PIK to
Shannon did not qualify for reasons I know not. Nothing has been said in
publicity about either PIK or EDI route being assisted

You have a cheek to talk Joe. You shout your mouth off about conspiracy
theories everytime GLA gets a new
You even take it further and try too discredit the airlines by bad mouthing
them and making claims of doom and gloom. Yet again a case of double
standards.

The same can be said when the new EDI Co route was announced. As soon as

Emirates was announced from GLA you started with your usual garbage as well.
It seems that you and Jon are connected in some sort of negative way.

Joe is just bitter because for EDI to get a new rout the need to suck
up Jack m connals arse to get it where as GLA has secure countless new
routs with no help from the ee ps joe s*** pics but then again its edi
not much hapens there

But its not a international rout so it shouldnt but then again the ee
will fund any service to get a service in to edi expecily if it means
droping a flight into one of the two glasgow airports
