Aer Arann had not announced the service to PIK when Air Wales announced their intention to start from GLA. Aer Arann then made their announcement about a service to PIK without a start date. Just as they did that Ryanair announced a completely unexpected service to Shannon (about 50 miles down the road.). Going from no service to a B737-800 and an ATR 42 every day seemed illogical. Aer Arann have obviously looked again and chosen EDI. Good luck to them but I still think they will struggle to compete against Ryanair. The Ryanair PIK to Shannon did not qualify for reasons I know not.
