I am planning a trip to Southampton area and was checking out airfares at
the weekend. It seems there is an amazing variation from as low as £18 one
way plus tax to over a £100 one way. Can someone explain to me what all this
means? How close to the travel date are these cheap fares likely to be
available for example? I don't have to travel on any specific date really
just when it fits in with other stuff I am doing and when it is cheap. I
found even cheaper fares to Bristol as well but am not sure if it is
possible to go there and take a train to Portsmouth and fly home from
Southampton with BA.
I would like to go via Bristol if possible, but it isn't clear on the BA
website how to do this without paying through the nose. They have fares as
low as £9 to Bristol. Also I don't want to book with BA and find them on
strike on the day I travel!!
Any help would be appreciated TIA.
