I've been looking into various FBOs. It's easy to find people saying
good things about Pilot's Choice, so that one is certainly under
consideration. It's hard to find recent posts about Adventure
Aviation / Adventure Flight Center, though. Anyone here have anything
good or bad to say about them based on recent experience?
Thanks!

I've bought some charts from them a few times, and seen CFI's in there
talking with students. Other than the office being a bit disorganised
(can't find the key to the chart case, no one knows how to sell the
chart, etc.) they seem pretty much like most other small flight training
FBO's.
None of them will be perfect. I like Beth and Pilot's Choice, but they
will have their problems as well. Some things to consider...
o Do they have enough planes to handle the student load, allowing for
the increased spring and summer traffic. [And remember, some planes
will ALWAYS be down for maintenance or "problems."]
o Do they have enough instructors for the load. Some instructors may
only work on weekends, or only during the week. [Check their signup
logs for both instructors and planes.]
o Any bad policies or procedures that will be a hassle for you?
o Insurance to protect the rentor?
o Night and overnight rental policy?
Most of all - if this is for training, you will want to find an
instructor that YOU are comfortable with. This is much more important
than the FBO (you will come to know this person VERY well). Go take an
"intro" flight at both places, and don't be afraid to ask for a
different instructor, even at the same place, if you are unhappy.
