Hello all
This post/question is in relation to a 2 hr. CNN documentary
of the 10 year anniversary of the Flight 800 accident.
It was wiring of the fuel level probe that was bundled
together beside high-voltage cabin light wiring. The
high-voltage wiring caused a spark which ignited fuel
fumes in the centre tank causing the jet to blow up.
Another factor that didn't help, was the fact
that the cabin air conditioning system on the original
1972 model 747 was placed right above the fuel tank
with only a 3 inch clearance. Does anyone know if
they have been able to reduce the heat levels or
change the location of the cabin air conditioning system
in later models of the jet? Are the wiring bundles for
the fuel level probe and the high-voltage cabin light
wiring still bundled together in the later models?

Regarding the latest Airbus model A380, does anyone
know if the wiring is set up the same as Boeing 747
older and possibly newer models? Does anyone know
if systems engineering at Airbus designed their fuel
tanks to mitigate some of the ignition factors inside the
fuel tank that the 747 has had in its service life?

If anybody knows anything, I would be glad to hear from you.
