Here are some *not* verbatim (don't want to get into bother) snippets from
an ET article from March this year which I don't think I covered fully -
For months on end the airport has been growing faster than both Turnhouse
and Prestwick, it's low-cost rival in Ayrshire. The airport is now on track
to handle nine million passengers this year.
---------------------------------------------
Five new routes have been confirmed for this summer, including a key
connection with Brussels.
---------------------------------------------
Airlines like to know they are making the right descision when they open up
a new service. We just say, look at Emirates.
Emirates runs a single service that sums up Glasgow's success. The Middle
East airline last month announced that it would use a new Boeing 777-300 a/c
on its service from Glasgow International to Dubai. The aircraft will be by
far the biggest to fly from Scotland, it will be able to carry more than 400
people a day on Scotland's only long-haul flight to the east.
Glasgow business leaders said the descision to bring a 777-300 to Glasgow
International was a hugh vote of confidence in the airport.
---------------------------------------------
£12m for expansion in the coming year including a new luggage carousel to
take all the bags of 400 passengers from Dubai.
Above it will be built an area for those who pay top dollar to relax before
their flights.
---------------------------------------------
The opening of the M74 extension by 2008 is expected to win back the 150,000
passengers BAA Glasgow thinks it loses to EDI every year due problems on the
Kingston Bridge.
---------------------------------------------
It's a Scots airline thats has made one of the biggest differences in
Glasgow International - Tom Dalrymple said -
"Glasgow is where we want to be because that's where the population is. All
we are doing is flying from the people's choice."
More to follow if anyone's interested....

Still hoping for AA BOS-GLA for summer 2006. Delta to ATL and NW to DTW
sound like the next more likely possibilities though that quote could
include GSM who we know are starting Florida flights.

Well I would expect the masterplan to include:
Railway Station/line?
New International Pier?
New(replacement) domestic pier?
New Terminal to the east?
Stands adjacent to the possible new terminal?
New multi-storey car park?
Parallel taxiway?
The narrowing of the current main terminal?
Possible extension of T2?
How about that second runway?
A dedicated cargo/maintenance area North of rwy 23/05?
I like the sounds of those Intl. destinations Clive, but how about some
eastern surprises :)
Anyone got any mroe ideas?

Definately to the west once the hangar is demolished.

No.

In time. GLA already has 2 runways ;-)

More likely to the east of the Renfrew/Paisley road with that road diverted
to run adjacent to the Cart.

It's got to be Doha, three times a week.
I reckon they would pick up lots of KLM's cheap DXB traffic.
